Rock it!

The year of 1986. Tom Cruise is making waves with his killer bomber jacket. Now, I know you might be thinking, "Bomber jacket? Soul Train look

Well, Soul Train. That's the longest-running syndicated show in America and the ultimate destination for Black and Soul artists. Hosted by the visionary Don Cornelius, this show gave countless musicians a platform to share their art with the world. And the fashion? Don't even get me started. Corduroy jackets, high-waisted jeans, platforms, brightly-coloured knitted vests, and arm jewellery - these were the must-haves of the 80s. If you want to rock the Soul Train look, you better add these items to your wardrobe stat!

It's MCM, baby!

Visetos brand

Munich in the 70s - the disco capital of the world and a magnet for the global jetset. Freddie Mercury, Mick Jagger, David Bowie - they all lived in Munich and they all rocked the hottest fashion trend of the time: MCM. This brand debuted a line of 20 pieces exhibited in a glass tank (that used to hold a live alligator, no less). The line featured a hand-drawn MCM logo with laurel leaves tied with a ribbon at the center - a nod to King Ludwig I and his passion for neoclassicism. This logo became the brand's trademark Visetos motif, which patterns the logo with a diamond shape inspired by the Bavarian flag. From the beginning, the Visetos appeared in black on a cognac base, instantly becoming one of the most recognizable fashion patterns of the time. If you want to channel the 70s-80s jetset vibe, get some MCM and get ready to rock the disco scene! Even hip-hop artists liked its premium look!
